About Us

Kari is a third generation Oregonian and currently resides with her husband and, her two most impressive accomplishments, daughter Cassandra 24 and son James (JD) 17, in Corvallis, Oregon.

In years past Kari has had her own technology consulting business and has worked closely with various small businesses and non-profits including Oregon Tree Farm System, Oregon Small Woodlands Association and various political lobbying groups.

After spending many years commuting to either Salem or Eugene, Kari decided to try a career change that would allow her to spend more time at home with her children.  In 2002 she became a Licensed Tax Preparer and started her tax preparation career working for her mother-in-law in Corvallis, Oregon.

In 2004, Kari went to work for Debra McKinney at McKinney Tax Service and passed her Consultant’s exam in the fall of 2006.  In 2007 she purchased McKinney’s Lebanon branch office and ventured out on her own by opening Denilass Business & Tax Services, located in Lebanon, Oregon. In 2010 she became an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and has nearly doubled her practice to over 700 clients. 

Kari has been very active in Oregon Association of Tax Consultants, as past president of the Mid-Willamette chapter (2010 - 2012), State Education Co-Chair (2012 - Present), 2013 Convention Chair and was the recent recipient of the 2014 President’s Award.  She has also been very active with the Oregon Board of Tax Practitioners by participating in, their Exam & Education Committee, Rules Advisory Committee, and Consultant/Preparer Item-Writing Committee.  She has also been a state proctor for the state exam on multiple occasions.   

Taxes are not everything though and if there is any spare time left she stays active within her local community and her family.
